Our Story

The
Beginning
Let's start with the name, itself: Everlane Flower Co. Our original flower field is located down the dirt lane that I grew up exploring and playing on. As I have gotten older and moved away, the lane remained right where I had left it. My perspective started to change from seeing the lane as a part of my life to the reverse, for a little while, I am a part of its life. Ever means always, and that is exactly what I have found the lane to be, no matter how long I stay away, it is always there when I return.

So, as I have been given the opportunity to be a part of the life of the lane, I would like to make sure that it is a beautiful part of its story. Full of colorful blooms to share with others.

And, even if it is only a short part of its story, it will always be.
In the early days of the flower farm, it amazed me just how many different directions there were to take in growing flowers. For some time, I felt overwhelmed and unsure what to focus on and what would be best for my growing style.

I work best following the rhythms of the seasons, so I quickly realized that growing year round was not the direction I needed to go. I began shifting my growing plans to better align with this.
On market days, I noticed how disconnected I felt from the flowers I was selling, with my head typically down reading a book instead of being the bubbly booth people expected. Feeling out of my element, and wanting to show others where the flowers were grown and harvested, I began to work to make that possible.

Somewhat clumsily, I found the direction to work towards and opted for field-grown flowers, offering seasonal blooms through subscriptions and u-pick.

Allowing people to experience the best parts of flower farming through these options has been rewarding in many ways.
Why only seasonal blooms?
Mother nature has a pretty beautiful schedule, and we love following along to the beat of that drum, so our flower offerings are strictly seasonal.

There is a special kind of magic in fresh blooms, specific to their season, that imported flowers just can't match.

There is so much joy in sharing what you have grown with others, and I aim to continue to do that.
